NEWS RELEASE
ORILLIA PAPERWEIGHT KINGS
**************************
The Orillia Paperweight Kings recently travelled to Pelham, Ontario to take part in the Pelham Future Stars Tournament, where they dominated in three out of their four games.

On the first day, the Kings faced off against Milton, and ended up with a strong score of 10-3. All 10 goals were scored by Ben Anderson, with strong plays put forth defensively.

On Day 2, the Kings still were on a roll, taking on Central Wellington and Kitchener/Waterloo teams.

In the match against Central Wellington, the Kings controlled the score from the start leading to an eventual 15-5 win. Goals were scored by Hartley Russell (2), Preston Grimoldby, Ben Anderson (9), Tyson Hawke, Keldon Campbell, and Levon Hayes.

Later that day, the Kings once again handled their opponent with ease. They scored 15 while Kitchener/Waterloo netted two. Goals were contributed by Ethan Viherjoki (2), Ben Anderson (6), Levon Hayes (3), Preston Grimoldby, Tyson Hawke, Ben Almeida, and Keldon Campbell.

After an awesome night bonding as a team, bowling and playing laser tag, the team faced their toughest challenge yet, playing against another undefeated team from Guelph on the final day of the tourney.

The score was close the entire game, leaving many spectators on the edges of their seats. Guelph held on to win a close 8-5 victory. All of the goals contributed in this tough match were from Ben Anderson.

In his first tournament in net, Jaxon Snider was incredible, making many difficult saves, and keeping the score as close as it was in the final game. The tremendous number of goals that were scored by this team and the low number of goals against could not have been possible without strong support and valuable defence from team members Holden Spurgeon, Brock Caven, Devin Russell, Jacob Bat, Kash Cosco and Dustin Springstead.

As this was the season-ending tournament for this amazing team of young lacrosse players, the team would like to say thank you to a fantastic group of coaches who not only set high expectations and are admirable role models, but also who gave their time and expertise to the game that they love just as much as their players do. Thank you to Andrew Hawke, Brock Robertson, Zach Morris, Daryl Bat, and Dean Carney.

The team also wants to send out a special thank you to the team manager, Allison Campbell, who not only kept the team and therefore the parents organized, but also planned excellent opportunities for the players to bond and grow together.

This was an excellent season for this young team, who are already looking forward to seeing each other again on the floor next year. Thank you to OMLA for a wonderful opportunity!
