Both defences were playing tight and not letting many quality scoring opportunities with Peterborough adding a pair of singles to close out the first frame. The Kings would find themselves into some penalty trouble throughout the first and second period with special teams being their ultimate demise giving up four power-play goals and shorty.

The Kings would notch their first goal of the game off the stick of Willow Davidson. Midway through the period saw the Laker goalie venturing from crease again this time to be levelled by Willow Davidson. The ensuing conduct from the Lakers gave the Kings the chance they needed drawing three penalties.

However, this was not the Kings' day as they failed to score on the ensuing power plays. Final score would see the Lakers win 9-1 to take the gold. Despite the conditions of the arenas and the sweltering heat, the girls fought hard all tournament long and earned themselves the silver medal.

Now having medalled in the last two consecutive tournaments, the girls will look to build on these experiences as they head into provincials in August as their record improved to 16-5-1 on the season.
