Red-hot juvenile Lakers sink foes at Newmarket tourney

Local squad wins all three contests at mini-tourney

The Orillia Lakers U17 juvenile boys moved to six wins against no losses with three victories in a Newmarket mini tournament on March 10.

The boys played outstanding defence, smothering East Side City, Grimsby and PMBA, allowing an average of only 40 points. In spite of being short handed due to injuries, they dug deep and worked hard all day.

In their toughest match they outlasted Grimsby by a score of 55-44 and had contributions from all players. The scoring was led by Ben Long with 14 points, followed by Luke Sallows (13), Joan Colominas (10), Will Quigley (6), Logan Monaghan (4), Aaron MacDonald (2), Ben Marzano (2), John James (2) and Aiden Hoffman (2).
