Simcoe United second in league after recent action

Local basketball team had up-and-down experience, losing two and winning two

The OOFII Simcoe United Grade 7 boys basketball team went two for two recently to land in second place in the league.

During the second weekend of Canadian Youth Basketball League play, the team first faced Eagle Flight. The close match went to overtime, and Eagle Flight edged Simcoe United 42-41 when the local squad couldn’t drop two last-second shots.

Simcoe United rebounded in the second game, handing Bordertown its first loss, 66-42.

The third game of the weekend saw Simcoe United take on an athletic House of Legends team from Scarborough. Simcoe United kept up during the physical game, but lost 52-51 when the Legends potted a buzzer beater.

The weekend ended on a positive note for Simcoe United when it defeated JooKoo 51-42.

OOFII Simcoe United is now 4-2 overall in Canadian Youth Basketball League play.
