On Sunday, in recognition of National Coaches Week, Snowleopards Cheerleading Team head coach Teanna Larmand was honoured with a certificate on behalf of the City of Orillia.

Mayor Steve Clarke was in attendance to present the certificate which recognizes Larmand for establishing her cheerleading program in Orillia in association with Mariposa Gymnastics Club three years ago.

This is a program which is helping to provide the youth of our city with valuable opportunities. The award speaks specifically to the chance to build self-confidence, a sense of inclusion, team building skills, a variety of physical skills as well as positive competitive experiences.

These skills, the city believes, shall benefit the athletes throughout their lives, which is truly a credit to Coach Teanna Larmand as she instills only the very best qualities in those who participate in her program.

While only two teams could be present for the presentation, we know that all athletes and their families are increasingly proud of their coach.

We believe that this award will push Coach Teanna to further continue in expanding her vision and increasing the outreach of the program.

We all look forward to the future, and cannot wait to see how our 2019-2020 cheer season reflects her continued hard work and dedication.
