Stallions unveil 2017 winners, plans for 2018

The Huronia Stallions recently announced their 2017 award winners for their varsity, junior varsity and bantam teams. 

The varsity award winners are: MVP – Zachary Kuhn and Zachary Kean; Top Lineman – Spencer MacNamara; Pride Award – Cameron Hoekstra; Top Rookie – Jack Malo; Most Improved – Mitch Stadnyk; Special Teams – Issachar Sookwah and Ryan Clarke; Memorial Scholarship recipients – Christian Hutter- Coppin and Dylan Hart. Hutter-Coppin is playing varsity football at Wilfrid Laurier University and Hart is on the varsity team at the University of Toronto. Both young men played for 11 years in the Stallions system. 

The junior varsity award winners are: MVP – William McCulloch and Julian DiSabatino; Top Lineman – Mansel Haughton; Pride Award – Wyatt Brown; Top Rookie – Matthew Koufis; Most Improved – Josh Flindall; and Special Teams – Saeed Khan.  The Bantam winners are: MVP – Alex Linke; Top Offensive Player – Kieran Harrison; Top Lineman – Nolan Chalmers; Top Rookie – Aaron Lavers; Pride Award – Jack Brickell; and Special Teams – Hunter Graham.

The Huronia Stallions have two registration sessions for the 2018 season planned:
Saturday, Feb. 24 from 10 to 4 p.m. at Rotary Place in Orillia and;
Saturday March 3 from 10 to 4 p.m. at East Bayfield Recreation Centre in Barrie.
The Stallions have three age divisions that compete in the Ontario Football Conference against other cities and a house league that operates in Barrie and Orillia. Cost for house league is $490; cost for travel teams is $590. The following are the division and birth years for each: Varsity - 1999, 2000, 2001, Junior Varsity – 2002, 2003, Bantam – 2004, 2005.  For House League: Colt – 2004, 2005, Pony – 2006-2007, Mustang 2008-2009.
