Teams travel from far and wide for Australian Pairs event

Teams were competing at Orillia Lawn Bowling Club for coveted trophy sponsored by John Mayo/BMO Nesbitt Burns

There was a full draw for the Australian Mixed Pairs Tournament at the Orillia Lawn Bowling Club Thursday.

Teams from Barrie, Beeton, Collingwood, Lindsay, Midland, Orillia, Stouffville and Toronto competed for the trophy sponsored by John Mayo/BMO Nesbitt Burns.

The winners of the coveted trophy were Jeanne and Bob Christie from Stouffville.

The other team winning their three games were Orillia’s Robb Barsevich and Laurie McLeod.

Other winners were Peter White and Susan Bassett (Toronto), Bob Scruton and Mary Dawson (Barrie) and Kevin Binsted and Cheri Duncan (Orillia). 

Australian Pairs is an exciting variation of lawn bowling where players alternate positions after playing each end.
