Fresh off a road win in Penetang, the Orillia Terriers Jr. C hockey club will look to keep the winning ways going tonight at Rotary Place.

On Friday night, the Terriers used an explosive third period to record an 8-4 triumph over the Kings at the Penetang Memorial Community Centre.

Orillia netminder Zach Levac was strong between the pipes, stopping 24 of 28 shots fired his way.

Trailing 4-3 heading into the final frame, the line of Mason Beck, Jack Beck and Kyle Heitzner led the way, scoring four of their team's five unanswered goals in the third.

“My line had some good chemistry,” Heitzner told the Terriers’ website after the game, referencing the trio’s tenacious forecheck and strong performances from the Beck brothers.

“You know what? Things worked out,” said Heitzner, who had two goals - including a short-handed marker - and three assists on the night. “Sometimes you don’t get the bounces ... tonight they went our way.”

While the captain’s line had a big night, Kyle Challis also shone, scoring a pair of goals - his first two of the season.

“It’s been a long time coming,” Challis said. “It’s finally good to get one and two is a bonus.”

With the come-from-behind win, the Terriers improve to 2-2 on the young Provincial Jr. Hockey League season.

Tonight, Orillia welcomes Huntsville to Rotary Place for a 7:30 p.m. contest.

“Huntsville’s a good team this year. They’re an older team, they’re physical … (and) we just have to use our speed and use our home rink to our advantage,” said Heitzner.

He said the team hopes to “get great fan support” like they did for their home opener when 500 people packed the rink.

Challis said the key to the team securing a win tonight will be keeping their collective cool.

“We need to stay disciplined and stay out of the box,” he told the Terriers’ website.

Huntsville enters tonight’s contest with a 1-4 record.

Cost of admission is $9 for adults and $7 for students and seniors. Season passes are also available for purchase.
