August has been an extremely busy month for competitive Orillia lawn bowlers.

It started with Barry Holloway, Brian Minns and Robb Barsevich winning the District 13 senior men’s triples. They will compete for the provincial title at the Muskoka Lawn Bowling Club Aug. 30 to 31.

Orillia bowlers also competed in Woodstock in a new provincial event, novice mixed combo 4s, and took sixth place.

The third open Ontario Lawn Bowls Association tournament of the year was held at the Orillia club on Aug. 18. It was a mixed Aussie pairs event sponsored by Burton Team — Investment Planning Counsel. All rinks were full with bowlers from clubs from across the region.

The winning team from Lindsay was Rhys and Stacey Warren.

The next “fun” tournament is scheduled for Aug. 24, sponsored by Jim Wilson Chevrolet.
