Twin Lakes Secondary School certainly brought their inner Diva to town last week!.

Teacher Sarah Hagman’s Running Course is designed for students to complete an eight-week run program and finish the training by participating in a 5km run somewhere in Ontario as part of their exam.

This year, the class decided to run the 5km Divas Run on Toronto Island but, unfortunately, it was postponed until the fall due to extreme flooding.

This, however, did not stop the Grade 10 girls from organizing their very own 5km Diva Run!

With hard work and a positive mindset, the girls were able to pull the event together which took place on Thursday, June 13 at 9:30 a.m.

The class had a great day filled with cupcakes, music, balloon arch, boas and tiaras. All participants received a medal for their accomplishment, and one particular student, Kiley O’Connor, won the award of “Most Spirited Diva” for her encouragement on the 5km run course.

It was a successful event as everyone crossed the finish line in true Diva spirit with a tutu, tiara, boa and a big smile on their face.
