This week, columnist Erika Engel talks about some of the passion projects that she has put her time and effort into during the pandemic and its lockdowns. We want to hear from you as well: Have you explored a new hobby or developed a thirst for something entirely different? Let us know!

In addition, community editor Dave Dawson weighs in on some of the oddities associated with the current provincial lockdown. While most rational people understand why it's important, the rationale behind some of the decisions related to this lockdown are hard to fathom.

And if you missed it, here's what happened last week:

Reporter Tyler Evans recently talked to Orillia Terriers Jr. C Hockey Club general manager, Andrew McDonald, about the constant delays to the Provincial Junior Hockey League season and the challenges presented by the global pandemic.

Reporter Bob Bruton talks about getting the COVID-19 vaccine once available and some of the questions he has. "I’m not really one for getting vaccinated," he writes. "I don’t get the annual flu shot, figuring a good diet, adequate exercise and seven hours of sleep a night will keep me healthy. The only vaccine I ever got was for H1N1, and that was because my then-teenaged son wouldn’t have got his shot had I begged off. But this coronavirus is different than the annual flu or H1N1."
