Do you believe that a better world, a better Canada, a better Ontario, is possible? Do you want to make Simcoe North a better, more equitable, place? Then you should consider running for the New Democratic Party (NDP)!
The Simcoe North Federal and Provincial NDP Riding Associations have formed candidate search committees in preparation for the next Canadian federal election, which could happen earlier than scheduled, as well as the next Ontario election in 2022. The NDP is looking for passionate people that represent the diversity of our country, province, and community.
“I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again; with the NDP, change is possible for Simcoe North,” said Angelique Belcourt, NDP candidate in Simcoe North for the 2019 federal election and member of the federal and provincial candidate search. "If you dream of making a change, you are more than capable of running as a candidate for the next election, and I encourage you to consider doing so.”
Belcourt added: “I am currently committed to some incredible projects that I am deeply and passionately involved in, and so I am not able to run as I hoped at this time. It was truly an honour to be embraced by the riding and to see how much support there is for a renewed vision for Simcoe North. I am very confident of and excited at the idea of our EDA and community finding an outstanding candidate to continue our vision of care."
Doris Middleton, Simcoe North’s NDP candidate in the 2011 and 2014 provincial elections, is also lending her experience to the candidate search federally: “The support for the NDP in Simcoe North has grown steadily in the past few elections. We need a dedicated person to work alongside the team and continue on this path as our candidate to be next MP for Simcoe North.”
