A number of road safety issues will be brought forward at this week's committee of the whole meeting this Monday.

The first one will be a deputation made by three residents of Pine Forest Beach Ratepayers Association. They want to impress on council their concerns regarding the tar and chip road in their subdivision.

Their presentation, part of the agenda, lists a number of issues they have with the surface. Top of the line are safety issues for the older and younger users of the road that move around in scooters, walkers, bikes, and strollers. Their presentation also talks about increased noise due to the road surface. As well, they've included a fear of personal injury as a cause of conern.

Following that is a presentation by Lynne Archibald, representing the Federation of Tiny Township Shoreline Associations, who will talk about the results of a survey the association conducted to gather feedback from area residents on road safety in their neighbourhood.

The survey, which contained 10 questions, was sent to more than 1,200 people, out of which only 455 responded. Full results are available online

The survey helps gather feedback on road safety and speed, stop signs, crosswalks, and trouble spots in the area. Some of the intersections identified are Tiny Beaches Road South/Concession Rd 4 and Crosslands/County 29, Durie Street and Skylark Road with Tiny Beach Road South, and the area of Balm Beach.

These aren't the only presentations around road issues. A letter from Bryan Young, president of the Bluewater, Georgina and Wendake Beaches Ratepayers Association.

The letter refers to a previous suggestion made by Todd Galliford around increasing safety at Tiny Beaches Road South at the Concession Road 5 and Jones Road.

Young writes that a more comprehensive approach is required to address the issue, aside from the installation of a radar sign between Consession Roads 5 and 6.

Aside from these presentations, Adam Fulford, of CanACRE Ltd., on behalf of Bell Mobility will be making a presentation around proposed telecommunications towers at Wyevale Fire Hall and Wyebridge Community Centre. The presentation will focus mainly on the proposed tower heights, which are being proposed at 46.3 metres or 60.5 metres at the first location and 35 metres at the community centre.

And also returning to the table for discussion is the official plan and zoning bylaw amendment request by Marcia Burrows, who is seeking forgiveness and approval of the amendments for the unapproved secondary dwelling she built on her mother's property.
