It is with heavy hearts and much sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Jacob Andrew Allan as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident on Tuesday, Sept 11th/18.
Jacob will be lovingly remembered by his mom, Lee Wilford, his father Mark Allan, sister, Emma Allan and her partner Jake Penman as well as his grandparents June and Fred Gibson and grandfather Don Allan. He will also be fondly remembered by many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends as well as by numerous pets that were very much a part of his life. Jacob was predeceased by his grandparents, Gran and Papa Wilford (Barney and Marg) and Aunt Margie.
Jacob was born in Orillia on August 19th, 1994 and raised in the Oro-Medonte area. His family home, overlooking Lake Simcoe, was a place of much happiness for Jacob. Bike riding, swimming, hunting or simply “hanging out” were all favourite things for Jacob to do. The lake was a special place for Jacob and he spent many hours fishing and being on the lake.
Family and friends were an important part of Jacob’s life.
Early on he showed a natural affinity for carpentry welcoming the opportunity to learn the ways of woodworking, designing and creating numerous items for family and friends. Jacob was a graduate of Eastview Secondary School in Barrie and shortly after his graduation in 2012, he began his career in the carpentry industry.
Jacob was a kind and gentle man who was always willing to lend a hand. He was quick to laugh and it was an infectious laugh!!! He was fast with a smile and it was a smile that would melt your heart. He always had a twinkle in his eye and we could detect the mischievousness in it. He was a good friend to all that knew him and he will be missed by all of those he touched.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Jacob on Sunday, September 30th, 2018 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Oro-Medonte Community Centre, 71 Line 4 North (corner Highway 11 south and 4th line north). This will be an informal gathering of family and friends and the opportunity to share stories, reminisce and celebrate the life of Jacob Andrew Allan. A tribute dedicated to Jacob will begin at 2:00 p.m.
