Passed peacefully at Soldiers Memorial Hospital on Wednesday August 21, 2019 in his 85th year. Vernon, loving husband to Catherine, will be sadly missed by his children James (Crystal Dolliver) and Bruce, by his granddaughter Sierra, and by his sister Dianne (Bill) Stevenson. Vernon is predeceased by his sister June (Bob) Hughes. Vernon taught highschool first in Hagersville and later in Orillia at both Park Street Collegiate and O.D.C.V.I.. He was a very active member of St. Paul’s United Church and was chair of the property committee and founder of the Godsend program. He loved photography and participated in the Camera Club of Orillia. A celebration of Vernon’s life will be held at a later date.
