BARNES, Georgina 'Gina' Vera (nee Burton)

Passed away peacefully with family by her side at her Orillia home on Tuesday November 9, 2021 in her 81st year.
Daughter of George "Woodrow" Burton born in Sadowa, and Vera Agnes Burton (nee Beach) born in Whitchurch Township, (both predeceased).
Beloved wife of the late William "Bill" Rolph Barnes Jr.
Loving mother of Dan Vivian (predeceased) (Lisa) of Bracebridge, Connie Vivian (predeceased), Carla Williams (Charles) of Rama and step mother of Heather Anne Keaton (Andrew) of Vancouver and Lisa Rawthorne (Peter) of St John's Newfoundland.
Cherished grandmother of Conan (Brittney), Keinan, Kaelin, Kyle, Carlene, Nicole, Ashley, Tess, Lucas, Kai and great grandmother of Aylah, Anakin, Ashton, Gavin, Adam and Mariah. Sister of Luann Burton, Larry Burton (predeceased) (Glynnis) and John Burton (predeceased) (Rayma). Gina will be missed by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Former member of Westmount United Church, Orillia T.I.E. Club, Red Hat Society and Girl Guides of Canada.
Although born in Orillia, Gina and her husband enjoyed 26 years of self employment at Stillwater Park Campground, Nipigon, where they greeted travelers, operated a gift shop, participated in the Annual Blueberry Blast, attended dances, and in winter, traveled to warmer climates. They made friends everywhere.
With an eye for business, Gina continued her education after highschool with certificates in accounting and tax prep, computer, food and music courses, anthropology, gemology, sociology and indigenous studies.
As per Gina's wishes cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place at St. Andrew's - St. James Cemetery, Orillia.
The family wants to sincerely thank the providers and staff at Home & Community Support Services, Bayshore Nursing, Couchiching Family Health Team, and the MAiD program for their professional and compassionate care.
