BARNETT Alan James

Alan James Barnett, son of James Barnett and the late Marjorie Barnett, was born on September 3rd, 1947 in London England. Alan and family immigrated to Canada at the age of 10 where they settled in Orillia. Alan attended school in Orillia and went on to have careers in many fields of work from building construction, long haul truck driver, until operating the family business, Barnett Surplus Store for 14 years. Alan’s passion for motorcycles, cars and boats lead him and loved ones on many adventures throughout his life. His fondness for cooking, music and socializing built many lasting friendships and memories over the years.

Alan is survived by daughter Mary Ann Hoogsteen (Omemee), son Andrew Barnett (mother Linda), son Jimi Barnett and daughter Avery Barnett (mother Robin) and sister Kay Stone. Alan will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Please join us for a Celebration of Life from 3-5pm on Friday August 23rd at the Royal Canadian Legion, downtown Orillia. If desired, memorial donations to the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
