Jeffrey John Bergman passed away peacefully with his children by his side on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at Mariposa House Hospice in Orillia. Proud son of John and June Bergman (both pre-deceased) of Niagara Falls. Jeff is survived by his children, Bradley Bergman (Cassandra) and Bailey Bergman (Rohan) as well as their mother Sharron (Steve), his siblings, Clifford Bergman (Darlene), of Peterborough and Janet Becker (Donny) of Niagara Falls. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Brilyn and Blake and his beloved companion Indie. Jeff leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He will be especially missed by his mother-in-law Claire Powell, and her children Mark (Marnie) Powell, Lea Bagley (Kevin) and their families. Jeff will always be lovingly remembered by his dear friend Nancy and her children.
Jeff was an employee at Home Hardware Orillia for 36 years, starting there when it was Beaver Lumber and retiring in March 2022. Originally from Niagara Falls, Jeff moved to Orillia in 1985 because of his love for Bass Lake, where his family cottage is located. He spent many years fishing and making the area home.
The family would like to thank Dr. Toth and his team at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Dr. Ng and Dr. Ogundimu in the Oncology department at RVH, all of the kind and caring nurses at the OSMH Oncology department, his family doctor Dr. Mollon, his palliative care nurse Jackie and the entire staff at Mariposa House Hospice where he spent his final days.
Visitation will be held at Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia, on Tuesday, September 27th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 28th at 1pm at Mundell Funeral Home. A reception will follow at Hawk Ridge Golf & Country Club, 1151 Hurlwood Lane in Severn.
As per Jeff's wishes, cremation has taken place. He will be laid to rest in Niagara Falls during a private ceremony at a later date.
