It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful and free spirited girl on Friday, June 22 at the young age of 32.
Erika was born February 19th, 1986 in Orillia and attended St. Bernard’s and Patrick Fogarty. Her love of the arts drew her to study Radio Broadcasting at Humber College where she excelled creatively and academically.

Beyond words, she will be missed by her parents, John and Kathy, beloved brother Devin, proud Grandmother Edna Geden, Auntie Krista Geden and Abby Rose, Aunt Kathleen and Uncle Jim Patterson, Aunt Mary who became her surrogate Grandmother after losing her beloved Granny Cole, many adoring cousins, and a long list of the most loving, wonderful and supportive friends. She is greatly missed by her Jakey cat and gentle Meko.

Nothing moved Erika more than music - listening, singing, creating, dancing, interpreting and always cranking the volume. Erika loved literature and was an avid reader. Other inspiring passions included playing guitar, music jams, supporting local and Canadian musicians, back country camping and canoeing, rescuing wounded animals, the Mariposa Folk Festival, bonfires, Jesus Christ Superstar, Steven King, The Little Prince, learning languages, movies, concerts and loving her family to the fullest.

Erika’s kindness and generosity to others especially those less fortunate was an innate blessing cradled deep within her beautiful soul.
Following a horrific train accident which claimed the life of her boyfriend Warren, Erika was diagnosed with PTSD. Her grief and depression led to addictions and subsequently her untimely death.

Please join us to celebrate Erika’s life on Saturday, June 30 at 2 pm - Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West Street North, Orillia (parking off of Coldwater Road). Reception will follow.

Memorial donations to RVH Foundation- RAMM clinic would be most appreciated by family. They will go directly to the new RAAM (Rapid Access Addictions Medicine program) clinic opening at The Common Roof in our own community of Orillia. These donations can be made online using the donate button at foundation.rvh.on.ca or at the Mundell Funeral Home.
