On Christmas Eve, December 24, 2021 our dearest friend Mary Doré (Dorie) was called to heaven peacefully in her sleep. Mary was 87 years old.

Mary was born in the Cornwall area in 1934 where she lived before coming to Orillia and her temporary home at the Ontario Hospital (Huronia Regional Centre).

In 1951, the late Condon & Eleanor Robbins at Warminster took Mary into their family, where she lived for the next 57 years as part of the Robbins family. Mary is remembered with great fondness by the children of Condon & Eleanor: John of Whitehorse, YT, Chuck(Anne) of Wiarton, Anna-Marie of Orillia, and their grandchildren Andrew and Mary-Rose of Orillia. Mary lived with Condon & Eleanor until 2008 when Condon passed away.

For the next ten years, Mary was loved and cared for by Peter and the late Christine Smith of Washago until moving to June 2018 Oak Terrace (Orillia) where she lived until her passing. The staff and residents of Oak Terrace became Mary's new family through their gentle caring, their generous and thoughtful actions, taking and printing hundreds of pictures of Mary for her photo albums, buying her 'gigi's' and the many necklaces and hair ribbons that she loved! Thank you all for the special kindness you gave her every day!

Mary loved the Robbins family, her faith, her friends (especially Jocelyn, Barb, Betty and Wanda), nature, animals, and life. We will never forget Mary.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Church of the Guardian Angels, 115 West St. N., Orillia on Thursday December 30, 2021 at 10 AM. Interment to follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, Orillia. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Orillia SPCA in Mary's name would honour her lifetime love and care of animals and may be made through the Mundell Funeral Home.
