Gordon Donald Grimshaw went home to his heavenly Home on June 7, 2021. Beloved husband of Sheila Joyce (nee McLean) McCaughey. Beloved father of Gregory Grimshaw (Catherine) and Pamela Bonnett (Don) and stepfather of Alan McCaughey (Lisa), Raymond McCaughey (Jenn) and Susan Murray (Shawn). Grandfather of Tanner and Michael Grimshaw, Amie (Andrew), Amber, Casey and Cody Bonnett, Alycia (Dalen) McCaughey, Scarlett McCaughey, Blake and Griffin (Kim) Murray, Bailey Hammett, Dan (Millie) Schop, David (Kelsey) Schop and Julie (Bekka) Schop. Great Grandfather of Skyelar, Harlin, Tyha, Kaylee, Isabelle, Keenan (predeceased), Arabella, Jack and Nathan. Gord leaves behind his Brother-in-law, Bob McLean and wife Judy and sister-in-law Sirpa Saarinen. Michael O'Loan (Anna) and Jeff Benner had taken him on as their Pop. Gord was predeceased by his Mother, Margaret and his brothers Bill, Bob and Neil. Gord was a welder by trade and worked at many places doing that job as well as making trailers in years past. His last job was at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital where he retired in 1998. He was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church where he volunteered in many capacities. He served on the Board of Managers and on Session and also prepared meals for the Senior's Centre for a number of years. Gord and Sheila enjoyed their travels as well as helping out at the church. Their grandchildren and great grandchildren were a source of pride. Gord was a gentle man who spoke wisdom to he grandchildren. He thought about many things and made his opinions known to all who would listen. He was also a person who liked to hug everyone he knew. His last years have been fraught with many health problems but he soldiered on and his spirits were good. He always had a way of making you laugh. Visitation will be held at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia, on Monday, June 14th from 6-9 PM by appointment only. Due to the current COVID restrictions, attendance is limited and you must RSVP through the Mundell Funeral Home Website or call (705) 325-2231 to schedule a visitation time. Funeral Service attendance will be private, however, all are welcome to view the funeral via the live stream, beginning Tuesday, June 15th, at 1 PM.
