Passed peacefully at Spencer House in Orillia surrounded by family on Saturday March 30, 2019 in his 89th year. James, predeceased by his wife and the love of his life Roberta, will be sadly missed by his children David (Catherine), Robert (Elizabeth), Allan (Laurie), and Suzanne Harding (Mike Bumstead). James will be cherished by his grandchildren Christina, Jennifer, Robert Jr., Joshua, Jacob, Sarah, Ashley, Amanda, Sabrina, Ben, Georgia-Rose, Holly, Luke, Hank, Tyler, and Jackson, and by his great grandchildren Nolan, Raylan, Lee, Max, Malcolm, Lincoln, Matthew, Ellaina, Andrew, Henry, Alivia, Natalie, Jace, Keenan, Abbygael, Logan, Emmylou, Aberdeen, Winifred, and Andrea. James is survived by his sister Ethel Mercer and is predeceased by his sisters Dorothy Fraser and Ilene Powell. James was an Airforce veteran which inspired his love of planes. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br.34 Orillia, the Army,Navy, Airforce Club, and St. James Anglican Church. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia, (705) 326-3595 on Tuesday April 9, 2019 from 11 am until time of service at 1 o’clock. A legion service will be held at 12:45 pm. Cremation to follow. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital Foundation and would be appreciated by the family
