Passed away Wednesday, August 31 at his home at the age of 89.
Reunited with his best friend and wife Helen, he was the loving father of Lisa, Lesley (Mark) and Dennis and the cherished grandfather of Renee (Joel), Lindsay (Matt) and Shannon (Chris). He will be missed by his nephew Steve (Cathy), niece Kim (Bill) and sister-in-law Gwen along with his many friends and neighbours. He had a laugh that filled a room, a keen sense of humour and was devoted to home and family.
Don loved life, a cool pair of shades and airplanes, everything airplanes. He learned to fly at Toronto’s Barker’s Field of the 1950s and later flew the Dew Line in Canada’s arctic, beginning a career with Canadian Pacific Airlines. He retired in December of 1991.
A special thank you to the friends and caregivers who assisted us this last year.
If desired donations to the Orillia SPCA or Project Paws Dog Rescue in Barrie.
Happy Landings

“The lure of flying is the lure of beauty,
and I need no other flight to convince me that the reason flyers fly,
whether they know it or not, is the esthetic appeal of flying.”
Amelia Earhart
