Peacefully, surrounded by his family, at Mariposa House Hospice in Orillia from complications of Parkinson’s Disease on June 22, 2021.

Loving and beloved husband of Elizabeth Cassidy for 35 years. Loving and much loved father of Conor (Vera), Will (deceased 1995), Kieran (Bella) and Jessie (the dog). Loving and caring son of Lauranna and predeceased by his father Allen Jones. Brother to Michael (Judy), Myron (Enid), Chris (Francine) and to his sister, Lisa Colombo.

George was a wonderful and fun loving uncle to many nieces and nephews, whom he loved very much.

George will be remembered for his great sense of humour, a genuine caring and consideration of others, a relentlessly positive outlook and a tremendous amount of resilience.

He had a strong passion for sailing, canoe trips, flying and a deep love of his family home on Lake Simcoe.

His sudden death has been difficult, but in the end it’s simple: he loved all of us and we loved him.
