Catherine (Caye) Bernice Joslin (nee Tebbutt) passed away Monday, March 12, 2018, in her 86th year, at the Leacock Care Centre.   She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (Robert) Leef, grandson Iain Browning and fiancé Pam Morin, of Thunder Bay, and Erin Browning (Alex King) of Innisfil and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  Caye was born April 29, 1932 to Catherine (Brodie) and Walter Tebbutt and grew up in Markdale with brothers, Clarence, Mel and Don and sisters Gertie and Reta (all predeceased).  In 1950, she married Tom Joslin and in 1960, they adopted their only child.  Although for a time, Caye struggled with mental illness, she never lost her spark or enthusiasm for life.  While her family was her main focus, she was, over the years, an avid curler, a volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society and Leacock Care Centre, always ready to lend a hand, put a delicious meal on the table and host memorable parties at home or at “Uncle Tom’s” cabin.  Mom also had a soft spot in her heart for her four legged friends and could be counted on to provide tasty morsels to any within range.  She worked at Canadian Tire until her husband’s illness required her full time attention.  After Tom’s passing in 1994, Caye continued on her own eventually selling the family home in Severn and moving to Orillia where she lived for several years until her move to Leacock Care Centre whose staff provided wonderful care and attention and are very deserving of our gratitude.

Visitation for Caye will be at Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia on Thursday, March 15, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with burial on Friday, March 16, 2018, at St. James’/St Andrews’ Cemetery at 10:30 a.m.

If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Comfie Cat Shelter or the Orillia SPCA would be appreciated.
