The family of Rita Leahey sadly announce the death of our dear sister, sister in law, aunt and great aunt on Saturday, July sixteenth, 2022. Born on May fifth, 1935, to Joseph and Mary Leahey, she was the cherished sister to seven siblings. Bernard, (predeceased) (Helen) (predeceased), Kaye (predeceased), (Ed) of Ottawa, Nora (Gerry) (predeceased) of Brantford, John (Diane) of Sudbury, Donna (John) of Pottageville, Maureen (Ulrich) of Don Mills, Joanne (Dave) of Bracebridge. She was loved dearly by her many nieces and nephews as well as her grand nieces and nephews. Rita was a proficient typist, secretary and bookkeeper with many years of experience in the office environment.
Her personal interests were walking, reading, cross country skiing, music, golfing and photography. For the past thirty one years, Rita lived at 412 Muskoka Court, where she cherished the many friends and neighbors, who always kept a careful watch over her. A private family Mass will be said for her at Guardian Angels Church on Wednesday, July twenty seventh @ 3:00 p.m. Donations in Rita's name many be made to Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, 115 West Street North, Orillia L3V 5C4 or to a charity of your choice. Rita's family will be forever grateful to the Nursing and PSW staff on IMRS 1 at Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Orillia, which in her final days and hours, provided Rita with the utmost comfort, kindness and care.
