Doug passed away early Dec 6th 2019 at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie Ont., peacefully, the same way he lived his life and on his own terms. Doug was a very strong and caring man. He took his battle with Cancer deep into Overtime, far past the expectation given. He was in his 81st Year.

He was passionate about all sports, but mostly Golf, Football, and Hockey. His sense of humour and love for people, especially his family was 2nd to none.

He just celebrated his 45th Wedding Anniversary with his wife Elaine on November 29th.
Doug was born and raised in Kitchener however, his 31 years in the Sprinkler-Steam /fitting Trade took him to many different towns and communities in the Province, including working and living in Florida for over 10 years.

Doug will be missed by spouse Elaine (Hofstetter), step-son Murray Hofstetter (Wendy), grandsons Kyle Hofstetter (Mellissa), Jake and Ben Hofstetter, twin great granddaughters, Hailee and Haiden Hofstetter, brothers Tom (Dianne), Paul (Linda), Richard (Mary), Michael (Mary-Ellen), David (deceased), sisters Mary Turner (Tom), Jenny Pearson (Jim). He is predeceased by parents Rudy and Aurillia Lehman. He will also be missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and colleagues.

Cremation has taken place through the Mundell Funeral Home and there will be a Celebration of Life for Doug held Sunday December 15th from 1 pm thru 4 pm at Hawkridge Golf and Country Club, 1151 Hurlwood Ln., Severn Ont. L3V 0Y6. (Across from Orillia Mall and Burnside Ln.)
In lieu of flowers donations will be accepted in Doug’s name to the new Mariposa House Hospice currently under construction.
