It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alexsandra Matwee nee Hetner, peacefully at Bethell Hospice, on November 16, 2020, in her 96th year.
She emigrated from the Ukraine with her family, in 1930, to homestead in Cowan Manitoba. There she met Joseph Matwee and they married on D Day. She devoted her life to family. Beloved daughter of Zotyk and Marya Hetner, caring sister to all her predeceased siblings, Alec (Vera) Stephan (Vicki), Olga (Bill), John (Betty), Billy, & Peter (Marg). Loving Mother of Olga, Ronald (Elaine), & Nadine (Ross). Honoured Mother in law of Dave and Barb. Treasured Baba to Tonya (Rick), Jamie (Liz), Christie (Scott), Katie (deceased), Natalie (Ron) & Jenny. Honoured Grandmother in law of Todd. Adoring Great Baba of Liam, Grace, Benjamin, Jack, Caliegh, Cole and Mason. Cherished Auntie and friend to many, her steadfast approach to life and unwavering strength of purpose will be remembered by all. May she now rest peacefully. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Bethell Hospice Foundation would be appreciated in her memory. In view of the Covid situation, immediate family only will be permitted to attend services.
