It is with sadness and broken hearts, that the family of Mildred Grace McKerroll (Schell) announce her passing, on Sat. Jan. 19, 2019. Mildred finished her life journey of 87 years, at home, by the side of her husband Charles and daughter Janet.
Mildred was the loving wife of Charles and mother of Paul (Marj (D)) McKerroll; Carolyn (Bruce) McIntyre; Janet Hewitt; and Sheila McKerroll.
Mildred was the daughter of Phillip and Alma Schell (D) of Sunnidale Corners and the youngest sibling of Phyllis, Ruby, Virginia, Carson and Margaret, all pre-deceased. She adored the laughs and smiles of her grandchildren Meagan (Hunter) McKerroll; Laura (Billy) Hollingshead; Jesse (Brenay) McKerroll; Luke, Ben (Danielle)
and Sarah (Andy) Hewitt; Bryan (Ashley) McIntyre; and Clayton (Sher) and Bradley Rumball.
Great-Grandmother to wee Colton, Annelyse and Braylee McKerroll; and Tucker McIntyre. Mildred cherished her sister and brothers-in-law, Barbara (Elder) Robson; Peter (D)(Esther) McKerroll; and Allister (D) (Marion (D)) McKerroll.
Mildred will always remember her nieces and nephews - Trina (Brent) Liddard; Rhonda (Gregg(D)) Lynch; Gerry (Cathy) Wingrove; Lorne Wingrove; Linda (Angus) Henry; Susan (Fred) Degan; and Larry (Marionne) Fike.
Mildred was a faithful and loved member of the Orillia St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church for most of her life, involved as a Sunday School teacher, Ladies Auxiliary member, volunteer at many fund-raisers and social events and embracing the fellowship of many special friends.
Growing up on a farm, Mildred learned many talents that she passed on to others. She loved to read, sew, cook, preserve, garden, snowmobile, camp, go for long Sunday drives, picnic, play cards and games, visit with family and friends, and helped others. She had an endless desire to do daily acts of kindness with anyone and everyone who had a need...it was just part of her big heart.
Mildred had a life-long friendship with her dear friend Louise MacDonald, a friendship that never included unkind, hurting words. The two families were never united by blood but always grew in love.
Mildred's legacy will be the way she so lovingly embraced all of life and the living, with her sunshine smile, open arms, and her wit with a wink. She is gone from this earth but never forgotten in our hearts.
Friends and relatives will be received at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia on Tuesday January 22nd from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and at the Orillia Presbyterian Church (St. Andrew's), 99 Peter St. N., on Wednesday January 23rd, from 12 noon until the time of service at 1 PM.
