Posted

Diane passed away peacefully in St. Catharines Hospital.  She was the eldest daughter of Margaret and George Pappas and is survived by her sister, Judy, and family in Kingston, Ontario.  She was predeceased by her brother Alex and sister Jane.

Born in Kingston, she graduated from KCVI and then from Queens University with a Bachelor of  Arts and Bachelor of   Physical and Health Education. She began teaching and later returned to Kingston to spend two years teaching the BPHE program at Queens.
Her teaching took her to Oshawa and McLaughlin High School, followed by two years in Germany teaching at an armed forces school.

Many trips throughout Europe were enjoyed during this time.  She returned to teaching in Ontario and travelled to various parts of Canada and the USA.  A few years later she enrolled in the University of Oregon where she obtained a Bachelor of Science.  Returning to Ontario, she taught at Twin Lakes Secondary School, Orillia, until retirement.  Skiing and golf were enjoyed and she participated in the Can-USA games and later played shuffleboard in Coldwater.

Jaunts to the casino were regular where she would only play the lucky machines and mention the times she won.  Bailey and Josh were left at home.

At her request cremation has taken place.  Burial will be in Kingston at a later date. Online condolences at tallmanfuneralhomes.ca.
