Our angel has her wings; Frances Marie Peden (Nichols/Beard) of Coldwater passed away peacefully at Spencer House, Orillia, on Monday, May 3, 2021, in her 89th year.
Beloved wife of her late husband of 34 years, Douglas Peden. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Bruce “Ted” (Sandy) Nichols, Colin (Dawn) Nichols, Dawn-Marie (Wayne) Gorecki, Debbie (Doug) McGuire, Pauline (John) Dobson, Janice (Michael) Mathieson, JoAnne (Claude) Peden, Doug Peden Jr., Charlene Peden Swailes and predeceased by Gary Nichols and Scott Peden.
She is survived by her brother Floyd (Bernice) Beard. She is predeceased by her brother Gord Beard. Marie will be dearly missed by her 27 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Marie was actively involved in the community while raising her children, a scout leader and PTA mom, among other activities. She had a spitfire personality and was sharp and witty —anyone who knew her can still hear her saying “whatever.” She loved a good cup of tea, chatting on the phone or running the roads here and there but always weather prepared.
A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date. In memory of Marie, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Spencer House for their care and compassion.
