Florence Riley

Once was enough, I made the most of my time!

After her revival at Couchiching Beach Park, Aqua Theater in August of 2017, Florence Riley decided that this time she’d stay gone. Daughter of Charles Riley, Dean of St. James Cathederal, Toronto and Jane Phoebe Riley. Florence was first a physical education teacher and the gold medalist in her class at Margaret Eaton in 1942. Her passion for health and fitness was admired by many and she swam regularly in Couchiching through her last summer. Florence’s second career as a Jungian oriented therapist lasted until she was 93. This work helped others to understand their individual life journey. Truly an individual herself, Florence loved nature, her work, and she was grounded in both body and mind. Florence survived her five sisters and three husbands: Robert Dorsey, W. H. C. Marsh, and William Brummitt. She is survived by 4 of her 5 children, as well as her 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Her remains went to research and will be studied at the University of Toronto.  Florence Kathleen Gale Riley, 23 November 1922 until 02 December 2019. A celebration of her life will be held in the Spring of 2020. For further information please contact Paul Marsh, [email protected]
