It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Charlie Sheardown on Friday, August 12th, 2022 at the Leacock Care Centre.

Charlie was the beloved spouse of Eveline (Lyn) Hird, for almost forty years.  His first wife, Joan, with whom he had his 4 children, predeceased him.  He was the loving father of Sandi (predeceased), Styeve, Mike (Terry), Jennifer (predeceased) and to Lyn's children, Robert (Donna) and Annette (Shawn).  His grandchildren, whom he loved very dearly, Josh (Tanya), Amber (Matt), Ashley, Christina, Sara, Robert (Danielle), Gelja (Barrett predeceased), Daniel (Gage) and Mathew.  Lyn's grandchildren, Nolan, Jessica (Tom), Kristen (Marc).  He was blessed with 10 great grandchildren, Ben,& Lexie, Michael & Nicholas, Dante. Elijah, Brooklyn, Lily, Jack and Damien.

The son of the late Cecil and Thelma Sheardown of Edgar, brother Jim (Irene), and Bill and Howard both predeceased.  He had many nieces, nephews and cousins, who will mourn his passing.  Born in Lefroy, the Sheardown family moved to the farm on the 4th Line of Oro when the boys were little and Charlie stayed in Edgar for most of his life.  Spending almost forty very happy years with Lyn in their home on the 3rd Line.  Finally having to move to Orillia due to his ill health.  Charlie was a long-time employee of General Tire in Barrie until it's closure.  He then became "Charlie's Home & Garden Services" which he operated for many years, on his "Walker" machine.

He and Lyn enjoyed many trips in Canada, the Caribbean, and overseas.  A gentle and kind person, with a lovely smile for everyone.  He had many friends, in particular Bob Herbert, Norm McLeod, Glen Lancaster, his fishing & hunting buddies.  We would like to thank the Leacock care Centre and especially all the staff of Home Area 1, for their kindness and compassionate care.

Cremation has tken place and a Celebration of Life will be held later.  Details to follow.  In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation, through the Mundell Funeral Home. Messages of condolence are welcomed at www.mundellfuneralhome.com.    And finally, Dear Charlie, I pray that you can hear in heaven.
