THORINGTON, Mary Theresa Joyce (nee Edwards)

Joyce passed peacefully at Trillium Manor on May 18, 2020 in her 93rd year.  Joyce is predeceased by her loving husband of 67 years, Frank Thorington, and parents Isabel and Fred Edwards. She is survived by her sister Jackie, her children John (Sue), Karen (Bob) and Peggy.  She will be missed by granddaughters Nicole, Ona, Laurel, Jody, Beth, Kathleen,  Kerri-Anne, and Kelly and fourteen great-grandchildren.  She is joining her sisters Anne and Freda, and brother Fred (Heather).
 
Joyce worked at Guardian Angels Church for 25 years and was a proud member of the Catholic Women’s League.  She was also active with Girl Guides and the Orillia Curling Club. Joyce loved to cross-country ski, play cards, and walk. Joyce sang in the Guardian Angels’ choir for many years.
 
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Trillium Manor for the care and support provided to Joyce over the past four years and to her physician Dr. Ben McNaull for his years of dedicated service.  In honour of Joyce's Life, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Guardian Angels Church, 115 West St. N., Orillia on Monday morning, June 29th at 9:30 a.m.  Interment to follow: St. Michael's Cemetery, Orillia. Please note: all covid directives and regulations will be respectfully administered.
