Tiffin Cropped
Peacefully passed away on Thursday August 16th 2018, at Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital in her 101st year. Irene was the beloved wife of Fred Tiffin (predeceased), and a loving mother to Rick Tiffin, Donald Tiffin (predeceased), David Tiffin, Elizabeth Tiffin (predeceased) and Tom Tiffin. Cherished grandmother to Brenda, John, Donny, Kelly, Mike, Steven, Christie and Hannah, as well as many great grandchildren. The oldest sibling of Bert, Joan, Mary, John, Stan and Nancy (predeceased). She will be greatly missed by her sister Bernice Britt. Beloved Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Throughout her life she shared many adventures with her husband and family. From living in huts in Alaska while her husband Fred Tiffin built the Alaskan Hwy, being a young couple on a Cattle Farm or traveling the world, Irene was always looking for a new adventure. She enjoyed being a long-time member of Eastern Star and Lily of the Valley, as well as many other charitable organizations. Irene will be remembered for her overwhelming big heart, and always extending a hand to others. She was a second mother to many and gave her time and a listening ear without question. Our family wishes to thank Dr. Italiano and the staff on Floor One of Soldiers Memorial Hospital for the dignity and love they gave to her. Their services were appreciated by all of the family. There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, September 15th, 2018 at 2p.m. at St. Marks Presbyterian Church, located at 429 Jamieson Dr., Orillia. If desired, memorial donations can be given to the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital Foundation.
