Police seek suspects after millions in pure silver bullion stolen

Toronto police are seeking suspects in the theft of roughly US$11 million in pure silver.

Investigators say the silver, which was in bullion form, was stolen from a shipping container in Montreal in January of last year.

They say some of it has now been recovered from locations in Toronto, British Columbia, and Massachusetts.

Police say the bars that were stolen had several distinctive stamped markings, including a serial number and the phrase "Korea Zinc."

They say it's believed some of the silver was smelted into ingots in an effort to avoid suspicion.

Police are asking anyone who may have received those ingots or who believes they may have received silver byproducts from the shipment to get in touch with them.
