As a personal support worker, Kerry Collins goes beyond the call of duty to support people in our community.

From crafting cards and blankets to placing fresh food in neighbours' fridges, Kerry strives to make our elder community members feel seen and valued.

“It’s a bigger impact than she realizes. Kerry has a tremendous heart and the quality of care she has for people is rare to find these days,” said Kerry’s nominator, Sharrie Harren.

“I make crafts for people to put a smile on their faces. I want them to know they're seen and we know they're there,” said Kerry. “You have to do what you can to put a smile on people's faces.”

Our team was thrilled to surprise Kerry with a Random Act of Kindness to show our gratitude for her generosity and helping hand.

Kerry’s gift included a $200 gift card to Costco and a $50 gift card to Michaels to support her and her paying-it-forward projects.

“It was a little emotional to be recognized. It was very special,” said Kerry.

“I want to thank my nominator. She has been the best friend you could ever ask for over the past 15 years,” said Kerry.

If you know someone deserving of a Random Act of Kindness, our nomination form is always open for new submissions.
