CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continues to investigate a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on Nov. 22, 2020.
At approximately 3:20 p.m., an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP responded to a call related to a two-vehicle collision on Simcoe Street south of Thorah Concession Road 1.
Initial investigation indicated that a northbound vehicle lost control and entered into the southbound lane where it was struck by a southbound vehicle.
The driver of the northbound vehicle was transported to a local area hospital and then a Toronto area hospital with serious injuries. The passenger in this vehicle, Richard Harris, 18 years of age from Brock Township, is deceased.
The OPP's Technical Collision Investigation unit and reconstructionist were deployed to the scene to assist with the investigation.
