MIDLAND - Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to an assault complaint at 6:36 p.m. on March 25, 2018 at rear of Elizabeth Street, Midland residence.
Attending officers were able to quickly locate the suspect after attending the scene and the victim was treated at the scene by Simcoe County Paramedic Services and transported to Georgian Bay General Hospital for further treatment.
Investigation by the attending officers has resulted in Elias Charles Cripp, 22 years of Midland, being charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm contrary to section 267(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
He was released from police custody on his recognizance to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on May 3, 2018.
