On Friday, May 13, the Barrie Police Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit arrested and charged a 43-year-old Barrie male with luring a child, sending sexually explicit images to a child, making child pornography and possession of child pornography.

The accused was held for bail and later released on several conditions.

This male was arrested in September 2020 for similar offences and his cellular phone was seized at that time for a forensic examination. The results of that process identified additional child victims in the United States that the accused met online and exploited.

During this part of the investigation, the Barrie Police ICE Unit worked very closely with Homeland Security, who provided investigative expertise and victim-related support.

This project has been made possible by a grant from the Ministry of the Solicitor General.
