Provincial police say they seized around $700,000 in counterfeit clothing, watches and sunglasses, among other items, following an investigation at Wasaga Beach.
As a result of a joint probe between members of the Huronia West OPP crime unit and the Canadian Anti-Counterfeiting Network, with assistance from the United States Department of Homeland Security (USDHS) and the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre (CAFC), six search warrants were executed on Sept. 3.
Provincial police say the search warrants were part of an ongoing counterfeit merchandise investigation, which involved six retail stores along Beach Drive in Wasaga Beach.
The investigation is continuing and charges are pending at this time, according to police.
