MIDLAND - Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Units attached to the Southern Georgian Bay and Bracebridge OPP detachments executed a search warrant at a Lescaut Street, Midland home at approximately 3:32 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2019.
The search warrant resulted in a seizure of a quantity of blue heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine along with a quantity of Canadian and American currency.
As a result of this investigation Kevin Alexander Munro 36 years of Midland has been charged with the following criminal offences:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - heroin
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
- two counts of unauthorized possession of weapon
- possession property obtained by crime under $5,000 - in Canada contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada Act
Also charged is Anita Sweet 38 years of Midland with the following:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - heroin contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
- Possession property obtained by crime Under $5,000 - in Canada
- Unauthorized possession of weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada Act
Both accused persons were released on a recognizance to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on May 30, 2019.
