Bracebridge man faces drug charges after traffic stop

Man, stopped for traffic violation, faces three counts of possession of opioids

On Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2019 at 10:15 p.m. a Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer conducted a traffic stop on Cedar Lane in Bracebridge regarding a traffic offence and discovered that the driver of the vehicle was suspended from driving.

As a result of their interaction and the subsequent investigation, police have charged 53 year-old Darren Sculthorp of Bracebridge, Ont. with three counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Opioids) CDSA 4(1). He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Oct. 15, 2019 to answer to his charges.
