Collision leads to impaired charges for Ramara driver

RAMARA - On Feb. 15, 2020, the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a driver of a motor vehicle for impaired driving offences in the Township of Ramara.

At approximately 5 p.m., police were dispatched to a collision at Ramara Road 46 and Side Road 15 in Ramara Township.

A vehicle travelling northbound on Ramara Road struck a vehicle going westbound on Side Road 15. Orillia OPP, Ramara Fire Department and County of Simcoe Paramedic Services attended the scene. The driver of the vehicle on Side Road 15 was transported to Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital by CSPS.

Members of the Orillia OPP conducted an investigation and as a result of that investigation arrested and charged 38-year-old Timothy Hall of Ramara Township with operation causing bodily harm contrary to Section 320.14(2) of the Criminal Code, and operation while impaired - blood concentration (80 plus) contrary to Section 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.
 
The accused was released on an Undertaking with a court appearance of March 3, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice, Orillia.
