The Orillia detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a mischief which happened at a local cemetery in the City of Orillia.
Orillia OPP members were made aware of the incident, which occurred at the cemetery located on Coldwater Road. Police arrived on the scene and observed that in total 43 headstones were vandalized. The incident occurred between Oct. 4, 2019, at 4:30 p.m. and Oct. 7, 2019, at 8 a.m.
The Orillia OPP are seeking the assistance of the public in helping bring this incident to a conclusion. If anyone knows the person or persons responsible for this act or if anyone has information that can assist police they are encouraged to contact the Orillia OPP at 705-326-3536 or 1-888-310-1122.
