Driver critically injured in Wainman Line crash

Two-vehicle collision led to multiple injuries; OPP probing cause and urging caution as winter arrives

SEVERN - The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a serious motor vehicle collision in the Township of Severn.

On Nov. 13, 2018 at approximately 8:05 p.m. the members of the Orillia OPP were dispatched to a serious motor vehicle collision on Division Road near Wainman Line.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle travelling Westbound on Division Road lost control and was struck by a second vehicle travelling Eastbound. 

When officers arrived on the scene they observed the driver from the Westbound vehicle was badly injured and his passenger has minor injuries. The Eastbound vehicle driver also had minor injuries.

All of the injured persons were brought to Soldiers' Memorial Hospital by the County of Simcoe Paramedic Services (CSPS). The driver of the Westbound vehicle was subsequently transported to a Toronto area hospital with critical injuries.

The OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) were dispatched to assist with the investigation.
