A drug bust at a local motel Thursday afternoon brought a heavy police presence to Memorial Avenue.
Orillia OPP Const. Ted Dongelmans confirmed the incident was in relation to drugs.
Police said further information would be released Thursday. However, as of late Friday afternoon, no additional details had been provided.
One witness said the police activity was centred on the Econo Lodge.
Another told OrilliaMatters she was inside Hill’s restaurant, just down the street from the motel, early Thursday afternoon having lunch when an officer “dressed in army green fatigues” and carrying a large gun entered, looking for suspects.
Police have not responded to requests for further information.
