Erratic driving lands pair of males in hot water with OPP

After investigation, males charged with impaired, trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime and other charges

BRACEBRIDGE - On Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020 at 10:45 a.m. Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers conducted a traffic stop on Woodchester Avenue in Bracebridge after noticing some concerning driving behaviour.

An investigation into the matter revealed that neither the driver nor the passenger had permission to be using the vehicle. After a further investigation, police have charged 29-year-old Jesse Adair of Muskoka Lakes Township with:  

  • Impaired Operation by Drug CC 320.14(1)(c )
  • Trafficking in Schedule I Substance - Methamphetamines CDSA 5(1)
  • Take Motor Vehicle without Consent CC 335(1)
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime CC 354(1)(a)
  • Drive while Prohibited CC 320.18(1)(a) X 3
  • Drive Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available CCA2017 12(1)

He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge for a Bail Hearing on Jan. 21, 2020.
 
Police have also charged the involved passenger, 18-year-old Scott Richarson of Bracebridge with the following:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime CC 354(1)(a)
  • Trafficking in Schedule I Substance - Methamphetamines CDSA 5(1)
  • Fail to Comply with Undertaking CC 145(3)
  • Use of Credit Card (obtained by crime) CC 342(1)(c) X5

He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Feb. 18, 2020 to answer to his charges.
