Escaped inmate known to be in the Orillia area

The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have been made aware of an escaped inmate in the Orillia area.

On Oct. 9, 2018 Gaston Gagnon, age 29, of Orillia has been identified as being in the Orillia area and believed to be involved in property crime. The suspect is an escaped inmate from the Sudbury Jail.

As a result of his status the Orillia OPP and the Orillia Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) are investigating the whereabouts of this wanted person. 

Police are asking the assistance of the public in locating this suspect. A picture of him is attached to this release. If anyone has information on his whereabouts they are encouraged to contact police at 1-888-310-1122 or 705-326-3536.
