TAY TOWNSHIP - Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Southern Georgian Bay detachment and emergency crews were called to assist with a collision after 1 p.m. on Highway 12 in Tay Township.
An eastbound vehicle crossed the centre median and collided head-on with a tractor trailer.
The driver of the eastbound vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the tractor trailer was uninjured.
Highway 12 remains closed in both directions between Frazer Lane and Gratrix Road while members trained in collision reconstruction measure, document the scene and gather evidence.
The Southern Georgian Bay OPP continue to investigate the cause of the collision.
